Today is the first dedication of Firstlight Church as a completely new entity. The Lord has led us thus far to a completely new direction for us all as a church.
Indeed, we have seen how the Lord has prospered us all. The new Constitution, a good pastor, a great church.. all which has been given to us as a promise.
I remember around 4 years ago (to this Month) when our church was in a dilemma of not knowing which road to take, because of internal dispute and lack of pastoral feeding. Eventually, we have seen how the previous pastor has decided to leave, while quite a number of faithful workers have decided to leave as well.
I remembered distinctly, that at the time, my friends have asked me to follow, because they reckon that the change can never occur, and it was pointless to stay. But God is faithful, because the Lord has assured us who were determine to wait for change to stay on. It was through this promise, that we have seen the New Constitution drafted to us today. At that time, four years ago, i said simply that i knew that this will come about. And today, God is indeed gracious to us, as this has now come to past.
A few other promises also came about today. There was the new Pastor who came around 2 years ago. His coming came through a prophesy from 2 ladies (Linda and Anna), and this came about when we were praying for a decision. I personally was very skeptical of this new pastor, but the Spirit did not wanted me to interfere. In the end, i was glad i have trusted in the revelation from these women of God. Today, Pastor Richard had led us into a new start. It seems that his leadership has been a strong influence to us all.
The third prophesy that had come through today was regarding the number of covenant partner. Indeed, around 1 and a half months ago, when i read the book of Acts regarding the upper room, it mentions about the 120 in the day of Pentecost. This marked the start of the Church. And the number 120 jumped out, and i had told Pastor that we will have at least 120 to start with. Pastor inquired, "but what about the rest?" and the assurance was that this is but the beginning. The rest will still be with us as we move forward. As of today, we have more than 121 signed up covenant partners to date. God is indeed gracious.
In all this, i am convince that if we seek His heart, God will always reveal to us his desires regarding situations and circumstances. This is not simply about telling the future, but rather, it is the assurance that we know that He will continue to guide us how to build His Kingdom and His people. Indeed, may the name of Jesus be praised.
Incidentally, it is great to have JJ and myself led prayer meeting for the first time. And to have it in the very first prayer meeting of Firstlight Church, is an honour and certainly a faith revelation to us both. God is indeed good, as he seeks to make these situation as a memorable offering for His Kingdom.
